ElementUSA Celebrates the Launch of the Critical Resource Accelerator in Cedar Park, Texas
Press Release - Cedar Park, TX
ElementUSA proudly announces the official launch of its Critical Resource Accelerator (CRA) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by U.S. Congressman John Carter and Mayor of Cedar Park, Texas, Jim Penniman-Morin. This state-of-the-art facility, located in Cedar Park, Texas, marks a significant step forward in addressing the urgent need for domestic sources of critical minerals.
The event, was attended by industry leaders, technology partners, and members of the Cedar Park community. The day featured facility tours, networking opportunities, and insightful discussions about the future of critical mineral sourcing in the United States.
Accelerating America’s Access to Critical Minerals
In his opening speech, CEO Ellis Sullivan expressed his excitement about the launch and the importance of the CRA in tackling the U.S.'s dependency on foreign nations for critical minerals. "ElementUSA is not just another company; we're doing something unique and special. Our goal is to leverage our collective industry experience and technical capabilities to recover valuable minerals from waste streams, effectively recycling our resources," said Sullivan.
Sullivan emphasized the importance of reshoring mineral production capacity to ensure national security and economic growth, especially in light of recent global supply chain challenges. He highlighted the vast potential of U.S. mineral waste, noting that over 100 billion tons of legacy mine waste currently exists in the nation.
Innovative Programs and Initiatives
The CRA will serve as a hub for research, development, and innovation in the extraction of minerals from waste resources and midstream processing. Key initiatives include:
Bauxite Residue Recovery: Addressing the global environmental challenge of over 4 billion tons of bauxite residue currently stockpiled worldwide.
Salt Dross Recovery Program: Transforming a byproduct of secondary aluminum recycling into valuable recoverable salts and industrial minerals.
Midstream Infrastructure: Building and deploying scalable U.S.-based processing platforms that expand domestic mineral processing capacity across diverse feedstocks—strengthening supply chain resilience and reducing reliance on foreign sources.
Artificial Intelligence Integration: Connecting technology partners, waste resource owners, and end-users through AI-driven platforms to enable efficient resource valorization, optimized process solutions, and reliable mineral sourcing.
Commitment to Community
ElementUSA is dedicated to building strong partnerships and contributing to the local economy through job creation and innovation. The CRA aims to create a thriving ecosystem for critical mineral recovery.
"We love this community and the support we've received here," Sullivan remarked. "Cedar Park is the perfect location for our facility, and we look forward to working closely with local partners to foster collaboration in critical mineral recovery."
